Goodnight Monkey quilt

Today I finished this quilt for a friend at work. I just love the sock monkey prints. The pattern is Happy Hour / by Atkinson Designs.

I put flannel on the back for snuggling....

I also had the opportunity to just sew yesterday and finished a few more blocks for the Paintbox Quilt Along that Oh Fransson is hosting.

Nice to get some sewing in on my days off..........

Tea Time

Yesterday was a beautiful day in the Denver area. Alison and I took a little road trip to Boulder. The drive was beautiful with the Rockies in the distance. In Boulder we toured the Celestial Seasonings factory. I learned many new facts about tea (of which I drink a lot) . We also had the opportunity to taste many different teas as well. They have a cute little shop that we visited , and we had lunch in their cafe.

They had so many teas to taste. Some hot and some cold. We found some favorites.

Before taking the tour we had to put on these cute nets. Looking a little like Laverne and Shirley!

What a fun trip. On the way home we stopped at a quilt shop in Westminster Colorado called Tomorrows Heirlooms. I added to my stash and Alison will have a new bag for work.

A little "Love" by Amy Butler. This will make a new bag for work.

And then we headed back to Denver. I think Gary approves of the fabric finds.........

A great day with my girl. Makin' Memories............

Denver

This week I am in Denver spending some time with my daughter Alison and her pug, Gary.  I have looked forward to this trip for a long time.
Yesterday we went over to one of her friends to watch the St Patricks Day parade. This is a picture of us out on the deck. Gary was puttin" on a little green!

I have several sisters and one of them, Janet, made a quilt a few years ago that has cats all over it. Alison loves this quilt and so recently Janet gave it to me to bring to her. How generous. Alison was suprised and excited to be the new owner.

A good start to a great week.

Spring is coming,,,,,,,

Today I look out the back door and see this.......

All of a sudden things are blooming. Lets me know spring is coming. I love this time of year. I can even hear the birds outside singing today. What a lovely way to start the day. Soon it will be time to get out and dig in the garden.

Yesterday I was able to do a little sewing and made this cute apron for a friend. She is a baker and makes deliscious cookies and cupcakes and other treats that she sells. Recently she made me some awesome cookies to have for my sons' gallery show opening. Her website http://www.tamerastreats.com/ shows some of her tastey treats. Anyway this is a picture of the apron I made her. I love this fabric with the cupcakes on it!

The pattern is called Four Corners Apron from Vanilla House Designs http://www.vanillahousedesigns.com/ . It went together pretty quickly. I hope Tammy likes it.
Time to get back to a little sewing.............

Monday.....

Ah..... nice to have a day off after the weekend out of town. I had the most awesome pleasure of attending my sons Gallery opening for his  Advancement toward his MFA. I am quite the proud mama and love my son so much. It was quite a bit of work leading up to the opening. I am so glad Floyd and I were involved in that process, gave us a different perspective on the whole process. Was a pleasure meeting Jon and Kristens' group of friends as well. And now to share a few pictures.

This piece required a little tweaking.

Framing some prints.

Completed and working.

A few of his prints and pieces.

Good luck on Tuesday Jon. You are amazing. You make me proud.

.....................

And so I had a little time today to sew. Working on this right now. Left over scraps from my daughters quilt. Some of Amy Butlers original fabric line I think. Gypsy Caravan \ not sure how I will set the blocks  yet.

And so that's what I am working on today. Kind of nice to have the day off after such a great weekend in San Diego.
