Wow got hit by a cold.....feeling a little under the weather today.....Thought I needed a little therapy, so I worked on a few more spiderweb blocks. I have never been much for scrappy quilts, but this is so much fun and the results are amazing...... I am lovin' these blocks!

4 down...16 more to go!

I just love some of these prints. Random is a good thing.

Guess I'll go get a cup of tea and make a few more. Have a good day.

Finished Paintbox Top

Last weekend I was in Las Vegas for a girls trip. We had so much fun. The weather was so warm. I even got a little bit of a tan.

Being silly

Then it was back to work.....That was mighty hard after the late nights and little sleep.

and then this weekend I was able to finish my Paintbox Quilt Along top. I can't wait to finish this one. It turned out better than I anticipated. I struggled with what to put between the blocks and settled on kind of a stone color. I think it frames the blocks nicely. I had a hard time getting a good picture of it.

I made it with 63 blocks instead of 80.

A little better look at a section of blocks.

It took a little longer to put this together, but I am really pleased with how it turned out. This is kind of a different look for me. I'm not used to using the colored solids. A step away from the muslin. May try some more of this look. All in all a good weekend in the sewing room. I sure do like to sew.... :)

FreeMotion Quilting Class

I had so much fun last weekend teaching a freemotion quilting class. I had 12 students in my class and they were all so eager to learn. Something about a room full of kindred spirits.....We sewed for 3 hours and I think they were getting the hang of it in the end. I received some very nice compliments and have been invited back for another class! Yay! Here are some pictures of the students hard at work......

So much concentration......

Are we having fun yet?

Practice, practice, practice......

My poor Bernina was feeling a little lonely among all those Vikings...

All in all it was a great day and I am looking forward to doing it again in the near future. Thankyou Verna

And today I am packing for a fun weekend trip with some girlfriends. We are going to Las Vegas!

FreeMotion Quilting

Today I am preparing for a quilting class that I will be teaching this weekend. It is a basic freemotion class and I have 3 hours to cover the bases. It will be fun , I am looking forward to it. Always a good time spent in the company of fellow quilters. I am trying to condense a lot of information so as not to overwhelm them.

I also am going to try my hand at spiderweb blocks today. I recently bought somebodys scraps, yes I did say that ....I have stooped that low folks.... I bought scraps to add to my stash ! Wow.Not only that , but it means I am beginning yet another UFO..... I can't help it , I must........

And so there you have it folks. The beginning of another UFO. I must say this is kind of a fun block, and I can see many more in my future.....

Back to my sewing room........  :)
