Finished Sliced Coins Quilt

Sorry I guess I have been AWOL lately. Life and stuff.....a nice trip to Las Vegas for a late anniversary trip. Nice to have a little time away with my man....
So today I post about a project in the works for a while. In January I participated in a QAL led by Dont Call Me Betsy. The Sliced Coins QAL and today it is finished http://dontcallmebetsy.blogspot.com/2011/01/sliced-coin-quilt-along-introduction.html  Label and all. This one I made for my son who rides a vintage vespa which he has painted a bright neon orange. I actually found fabric with orange and pink vespas on it! Go figure. Anyway I used it to make the sliced coin quilt. I quilted each coin differently to practice my FMQing. It was a great way to practice, practice, practice. Now to get it packaged up and sent off..... to San Diego.
I love adding unique labels to my quilts.... :)

I actually had a break in rain showers to take a picture outside. We are having record rainfall here in Oregon and so that is a miracle in itself. Oh for just a little sunshine................It does make it nice and green here. One good thing I suppose.

I have a few projects in my que.................

Pocket protectors for my daughters coworkers.

March's Birdie Stitches BOM

A baby quilt for a coworker.

A Quilt for Kids charity project.

I guess I better get sewing............/Jeri

Just One Star

The other day I came across this http://modafabrics.blogspot.com/2011/03/just-one-star.html It is a request to make just one star block for a great cause. Their goal is to make 100 quilts in 100 days to give to marine corp men and women. I sat down the other day and before you know it I had 4 blocks made. I am off to get a brown pigma pen to sign them. Won't you make "just one star".

Happy Anniversary

Today we celebrate 35 years of marriage! I happen to be sick :( with a touch of a cold.....That's okay because I was suppose to work anyway. We will celebrate after the fact, in Las Vegas next weekend. :)

The way we were.......

Here is to 35 or more years.
Love my Floyd.

Homework

This week I have been working on more of my She Art Girls. My sisters are so special to me. I didn't get this finished in time for one of their birthdays but plan to send it belated. Sad to have this workshop at an end. I have thoroughly enjoyed it and have learned so much. Definitely will take another from her. I loved it!

She Art Workshop

Last week I started a 3 week online art class. "She Art" I am so glad I did it. So much fun and so rewarding. Here is a link to it. You have to check it out and then there is a flickrsite where people have posted what they learned the first week. Today over 370 group members. So fun to see all the She Art happening. I can't wait for the next two classes. It is mixed media, so I am taking a little quilting break.

Wow!

Okay so today I made a giant leap....and bought myself....are you ready for this? A GAMMILL quilting machine. It is the baby one (vision 18-8). I went to the local reps open house and the rest is history. I am so excited and now I have to wait 3 weeks. I can't stand it! Now I need to sell the setup I have to make way for my new baby.....
