Easter Basket

I finished this cute basket yesterday.

Using this tutorial....

Mine turned out a bit bigger. I used 2 1/2" squares for the patchwork,
whereas hers were 2 ". I needed to make them larger to fit the Gnomes in.

I found this fabric a while back with a particular somebody in mind.
Made such a cute basket!

I figured it could be used for storage after the fact.

March Guild Meeting

Last night was the annual Swap Meet Extravaganza of the WQG. It was fun, chaotic, and I brought home a few pieces of fabric and some zippers. Each year this has become quite an event for the guild, and this year was no different, We each have the opportunity to get rid of books, patterns, fabric, sewing machines....whatever and then these are all brought together for a huge garage sale . I bought $20 dollars worth of tickets and found quite a few items to put my tickets on in hopes of winning them. We raised  a good amount of cash for the Guild and what a fun evening!

This is just a small sampling of what was for sale!

I was also able to finish  two baby quilts for Charity. My sister had pieced the tops and then I quilted and finished them. My camera wasn't behaving when I took the baby quilt pictures :/ and I was able to snag a picture from the Guilds website!

A New "Go Anywhere Bag" for me!

While at the quilting retreat I was able to make a cute bag....

http://www.noodle-head.com/2011/08/go-anywhere-bag-pattern_26.html

I put in a sew in magnet closure,

added piping ... and a key leash.....

I just love this Lotta Jansdotter fabric!

http://www.jansdotter.com/shop

and a piece of Reunion by Sweetwater that I had in the stash

http://www.unitednotions.com/fcc_reunion.pdf

I used canvas to give the bag structure instead of interfacing. I will probably do that again because it has a much softer feel than interfacing does. Not sure about the sew in magnet.... Kinda spendy and a little fussy to put in. but for now......
                                                            Enjoying my new bag!

Guild Retreat

Last month I spent a fun weekend with some of the members of the quilt guild that I belong to. It was so much fun to just sew sew sew.....I managed to get two tops bordered and made a bag, and I finished a few blocks for monthly swaps. One fun weekend of enrichment. Quilters are such awesome kindred spirits!
