Birdie Stitches BOM

Finished the first BOM block for 2011.....

I just love the "Bliss" line of fabric. I ordered my backing and binding as well , so next year when the blocks are all done I will have them. :->  Now to figure out how to minimize the wrinkles. I have already tried the STS method / aka Steam The S**t out of it! I also like the fact that you make your blocks ahead of time so that when we are finished with all the embroidery our blocks will be ready to put together.   Jeri

Playing with Words

Before Christmas I bought this book.

I have been wanting to incorporate some words into my quilts. My first finish for 2011 will be the spiderweb quilt and this is what I came up with to put into the back.

I can see all sorts of possibilities with this!    Jeri

Block of the Month

I found the cutest block of the month and think I will follow along. I haven't done much hand stitching in a while and this looks like a cute way to get familiar again. This is the pattern. Want to join in?

After the tree comes down today I need to get cutting...... Jeri

Goodbye 2010

Time to say goodbye to 2010 and welcome 2011. I have been in my sewing room today and am looking at a lot of UFO's. I know we all have them. I plan to pick 10 , make a list, post it, and then work on that list all year. We shall see what that list is like next December! I have done this before with good luck, so here I go again. I know there will be new projects here and there, but that just keeps my "hobby" fresh and keeps me interested. For now, I will make a list........

This one will be at the top.....of the list

Happy New Year!  Jeri
