Workhorse

Today I brought this beauty out to play.

I am getting ready to gift her to someone and I was curious as to if she still knew how to sew. And well yes she does. I just plugged her in and off she went. Brought back a lot of happy memories for me😊. I think I got her in 1980.  Just look at the case she came in!

Bullit proof. I even have an acrylic extension table for her. My first Bernina, such a work horse.

I finished making these cute Sweetpea Pods with her.

Gotta love a Bernina!

After QuiltCon

I returned home yesterday after a visit to QuiltCon 2016 in Pasadena.
enjoyed myself. So many beautiful quilts, a few great lectures, amazing vendors,
quilt "celebrity"sitings, and I made some new friends.

    Love these contemporary houses.

    This one was called Catnado!

Mary Fons was very animated in person.

This was in a vendor booth. I watched it go together

Another Charity quilt, not sure from where.

   Loved this charity quilt.

This was hand pieced and hand quilted!

       love the color!

Unwinding and waiting for my ride!

Then it was off to DISNEYLAND! for a few days

Lots of people...and lots of walking.

      A fan indeed!

Stationary teacup, his kind of ride!

And a little cocktail in Downtown Disney.

Glad to be home! Great trip.

A Dash of Color

 I just love color.....

It makes me happy.

This is my current "Leader Ender" project about halfway there.
Made of my stash of 2 1/2 " colors and neutrals.

I also love me some Churn Dash blocks.

So I decided to throw in a few dashes here and there.

Oh I like this so far......

I finished this name tag last week.....oh look another churn dash!

But for now I must finish quilting my Grand Illusion/ it was the MQ from Bonnie Hunter 2014.

This is a big quilt....for me. 90"/90"

I'd like to have it to take with me to bind at the beach next week. My sisters are coming!

Midway Through The Month!

Ahhhh January. Where have you gone? So many plans.

Over the weekend I got ruthless and cleaned out some of the clutter in my sewing room. We have a sale every March in our Guild. Tonight is our meeting and I wanted to take a load of stuff with me to give to the garage sale Extravaganza! Felt so good to get rid of fabric and half done projects that I will never finish. I even put my old serger in there. I was gifted a newer fancier one and will never use the old one, so out the door it went. I also had a load to take to the Resale drop off. Oh yes and there was a bit of trash too.

Ready to load up the car.

I started this by making a list of UFOS that I hope to get to this year. And in looking through my half done blocks and bits I must have cleared out 10 or more projects. I saw a date on one them that was 2002! For sure it was time to let it go. My UFO list has 14 projects on it. A little more than one a month. Doable....right?

This is my leader Ender for the start of this year.

Scrappy postage stamp.

And I had time to put one border on my Allietare mystery quilt of Bonnie Hunter.

I am really liking this quilt! And I didn't purchase any fabric for it.
All from the stash, some deep and some not so deep! Love that.

My goal is to get the top done and then put it away til my Tumalo Trails, and Grand Illusion quilts are quilted. Then I will have a binding fest!

It's good to have goals....we will see.
