Goody Goody

In Spokane with my sisters this weekend. Yesterday the air was full of smoke . Very hazey. Emergency warnings going off on the phone to warn of dust wind and smoke for poor visibility . The clouds came over yesterday but the small amount of rainfall was pitiful. Today the rain is a welcome sight. My sisters teacher friend needs to be ready to evacuate but also ready to start school this week if that should happen. Maybe no true relief from these fires til the snowfall.

After a trip to the quilt store we are sewing some too. I have had my eye on these binding kits for a while now. Time to sew some up!

And some charity quilting going on too!

A cute baby quilt ready to go where the need is.

My flight was cancelled and so I have a few extra hours with my sisters.☺️

Interesting reading in this little place....

Stopped along the way back at

Pretty little hike, but kinda warm!

Words With Sam!

This month the PMQG mini challenge quilt involves Words.
I used some paper pieced blocks from this book by Sam Hunter

QUILT TALK by Sam Hunter

Several months back I took a class by her held at Fabric Depot
and bought her book. I like to put words on the back of quilts sometimes
And thought this would be a fun way to add those words.

My mini challenge quilt.

Lesson learned....hard to read the letters in
The low volume background, but next time.....
I enjoyed the process, and will use the book again.

I also finished the 2015 Riley Blake fabric Challenge,
And here it is, first time using my Hex n More ruler for the triangles

Front......

And back
         No letters on this one.

Back to stitching, off to see my sisters tomorrow!

A Quilt Show in Sisters

Last weekend was the 40th annual outdoor quilt show in Sisters Oregon. We took our trailer over on Wednesday and spent the better part of a week just outside of town. My sister and a good friend also went for the week. We were able to do a little outdoor sewing, a little shop hopping, barbecuing, relaxing, visiting, laughing, and of course walk about the show on Saturday. Great week and I already made reservations for next year!

Sew much fun sewing outdoors!
