Weekend in Sisters

Last weekend I was invited to go on a girls weekend with my friend and her sister.

Wine tasting at Five Pines.

We stayed at Five Pines Lodge in Sisters Oregon. The weekend included two long bike rides out in the country, relaxing by the pool, dining , and just enjoying each others' company.

It was so warm they sat in the pool and read!

We stopped halfway on this bike ride for a little nourishment.....

What fun!

This was just one of the views from our bikes....

I even got a liesurely shopping trip at my favorite quilt shop!

Such inspiration.......

The Stitchin' Post , I love that place!

I thoroughly enjoyed my weekend . I hope it becomes an anual event.   Jeri

Quilting for Charity

Yesterday I was able to sit with a group of fellow quilters and finish the binding on this quilt.....

I love making these baby quilts for charity. It's a fun way to try new blocks and practice machine quilting.

This one is going to a local Intensive Care Newborn Nursery through the guild that I belong to.

Gathered Clutch Swap

I finished making my swap clutch today. It turned out cute and I hope my partner likes it too! So far I have made two of these clutches and am getting better, but still struggle a little with the zipper ends. The one that my partner sent me turned out so nice, I am jealous!

Here are the three clutches. I received the one in the center from my partner. The one on the left was one that I made to "practice" , and then the one on the right is the one I will be sending to my partner.

A single shot of the one I made for my partner.....

And an inside shot showing the divider.....

This was my first internet swap, it was fun to do. It may be the start of something.......Jeri

Summertime Mystery Challenge Solved.......

Alright ready for the reveal......

Some of you may have guessed......

This is the setting for the A and B blocks.....

and here is my finished top.

It was so nice today I got a good outdoor picture of it on the fence. :)

So for the borders you add an inner border of cream. 2.5 inch strips, and for the outer you then add  5 inch strips. I decided to use up my 2.5 inch strips to make a piano border. You sew 8 or so strips together and then subcut them into 5 inch segments and then sew them together til you get the finished length you needI

I have a big basket of left over 2.5 inch strips that I add to all the time whenever I am cutting. I pulled all of the strips from the basket. I can truly say the entire top for this quilt came from my stash. I think I may have enough black and cream to scrap piece my back. Feels good to use from the stash. I am lovin" scrappy quilts lately.........

I also received a lovely suprise in the mail. Remember the clutch swap I made. This is the one my partner made for me. Isn't it cute.

Such a fun suprise in the mail today..... :)  / Jeri
