San Francisco

I am in San Francisco this week helping my daughter embark on a new path. Looking for an apartment in this city is a daunting task. Yesterday I wandered Dow the street from our hotel to Union Square and found this pleasant surprise ...

A four story fabric store. I have never seen this kind of shop before. What a fun place to explore!

Each floor held something different.

This was a start of the pieces I had cut.

One whole floor of notions and ribbons and

BUTTONS

Love the rolls upon rolls of fabrics

This is my new friend Mel lovingly cutting my fabric. She has worked in this shop for 35 years. She showed me some pictures of a crazy quilt she is working on. Love to network with a kindred spirit!

A fun way to spend my morning in the city!

Quilt as you Go

What fun to have a little time to sew today . I decided to try a little quilt as you go. I have been wanting to try my hand at it for a while now. Decided to make a couple hot pads for the Guild Bazaar coming up and so I got out the tub of scraps and gave it a go. Once again that bin of scraps never seems to go down , still hard to get the lid on it!
Here are the two pads I finished.

Like them ! Will be using this technique again. It came from a class on Craftsy. Probably didn't need to buy it but I loved the bag. I just can't resist a good bag pattern.

Vacation...Florida

This week we have been on vacation in Orlando. It's been very warm. The wait times for all the attraction rides has been averaging about 10 minutes. Not too bad!  Here are a few pics...

This is how the week began.

Always need a het picture!

Harry Potter in Universal was awesome!

My Hero!

We dipped our toes in the Atlantic, and went through a killer storm to do it.

And I found....a ...quilt shop along the way!

Miles...........
