New Book coming.........

I am a huge fan of Bonnie Hunter. Love to read her blog every day and see the adventures she takes you to . Some day maybe she will come to Portland and I can take a class............... Any way she has a new book coming out. I have begun to sew leader/ender pieces when I am piecing now and have found my large number of 4 patches is growing nicely. I just don't know how Bonnie finds time to do all she does. It wears me out just reading her blog.

Presenting: STRING FLING!

Any way her newest book is on preorder.  Check it out....StringFlingcoverlg1

Oooooh so many possibilities for using up the stash.................

Celebration

Back home again after a nice time with my mom. Saturday was the big celebration. A nice turnout by friends and family. She asked for donations to the local food bank as a gift. Two of her dear friends came by and they had such a nice visit. Mom was touched by all the fuss over her day. I take away a nice memory.......

A Celebration

This week I am visiting my mom. It just happens to be her 90th birthday this week. I am planning on spending some quality time with her and the rest of the family. So far ...so good. We are having some unusually good weather this week, both here and at home. Sunshine and 70's. Lots of outdoor pictures in this post. The yard is coming alive!

A toast on the official day!

A pretty bowl of annuals.....

The tulips are just about gone here.

Such pretty pansies.

Lilacs blooming in the "Lilac City"

Early spring flowers.

Bleeding heart.

Color in every corner.

Miniature roses.

and there is the green thumb......She does love her garden.
We all love this garden.
Enjoy !

Birdie Stitches finished

Today I finished quilting my sisters Birdie Stitches QAL quilt. I am pleased with the way it turned out. I do like King Tut thread so much. The finish and look can't be beat. This is a verigated grey thread, but the verigation is very suttle. I was a little nervous of the grey on white fabric, but all in all I am happy. I also took the quilt off the frame and turned it to finish the side borders . So glad I did , it made them much easier to sew. Here are a few pictures of the process. Not sure how well the stitching will show up in the pictures.......

and there you have it!  Jeri

A Time To Piece

Over the weekend I had the opportunity to sew for charity with my quilt guild. As always it was a fun day. Sewing, chatting, being with fellow creative quilters..... Here are a few pics.

My first chance to take her to class....
Love this little singer. She kept up nicely too!

We had cutters......

Several "Go" cutters were put to the test.....

A great set up. The Pythias Hall in North Plains.

Sewing, and pressing, and visiting.....

See those cute tote bags. We all were gifted one by our charity committee.

We sewed, cut, and sorted the day away.....

I love to see everybodys portable set up!

One of the blocks. Everyone was paired with another quilter working on the same quilt.
We were given cut kits to begin with. Look at all those "lovely" fabrics in there.......
Wait and see what they evolve into...

Seeing the quilt emerge..................

Two halves will soon make a completed top!

So much was accomplished....
We even got free lunch from our friends the Knights of Pythius

One very productive day.........
