Will you look at that Sunshine!

Yes we are finally getting a little summer weather here in Oregon. The 7 day forecast is for 85!. We are heading to Sisters for a little fishin' and relaxin' Not to mention a little stop at the Stitchin' Post...one of my favorite quilt shops on the planet! :)

I have been busy with the gammil a little this week. I took two quilt tops for Quilts for Quake Survivors/ at our guild meeting last week. These are them.....

I really like this one. I did one of my new pantos all over it with grey thread.

Kind of hard to see, swirls, I like the texture.

This one I did freemotion swirls.

starting to get the feel a little. Still need more practice. I like being in front of the machine rather than in back with the pantos..... Like I say, practice, practice, practice...and more practice.

and then I finished my two August blocks for Do Good Stitches {a charity bee}

These improv blocks are kind of fun. A little out of my comfort zone.....

and I also finished this block for the swap I am  in called
 Scrap Busters Bee 20011-20012

Have a great weekend,  Jeri

Doing Good

I joined an online quilting Bee on the flickr site recently. Today I finished the first block for my groups August assignment. We have two this month. This is a great group who is making charity quilts for kids.

This is the first of two. I am not use to this kind of random improv block,
but it was fun to give it a try. Now on to block number two......

and finally the sun is shining today, I better go out and make the best of this rare occurrance!

Vacation!

Heading up north/Washington, for a little vacation with my mom , two of my sisters , and two of my sisters grandaughters. Looking forward to a little handsewing, reading, and being with my family. The weather is great here today. Will be a great road trip. Hope I don't run into too many bikers as today is also the Seattle to Portland ride.

Yesterday I spent the day playing with my longarm. It is so much fun and I am getting better with practice. I have another charity quilt on the frame right now, which makes for great practice. Putting a little feather in the borders, using some of my new rulers, a little freemotion......Life is good!  Jeri

Quilts for Kids

Another Quilts for Kids quilt finished and in the mail. I used a pantograph to quilt an allover design. These are great quilts for practicing on the longarm.....

They always send such cute fabrics in the kits. This one has monkeys on it. Love the color combo.

A close up of the label. I cheated and sewed the binding on with the machine.

This is what the panto looks like.

You should try one of these kits. They are quick and go to a great cause. http://quiltsforkids.org/

Have a great weekend. Jeri
