A little Bling for my friend...

A while back I saw some fancy schmancy decals made to spice up your sewing machine. I was tempted.....

but with a little package of stickers I added my own style to one of my best friends............

I think she looks happier.... :)

A little here .....

and a little there..........

In the Mail.....

Today I was pleasantly suprised to find a book in my mailbox that I had ordered last February. I follow a blog http://www.quiltingismytherapy.com/ I have been waiting for her book for a while now. She writes a beautiful blog about freemotion quilting and her book is a great extension of her blog.

Free-Motion Quilting with Angela Walters: Choose & Use Quilting Designs on Modern Quilts

Very well written and so many designs in it to add to my personal quilting library. I think I will go and write a thankyou to her on her blog.

Quilt Show

Next month is the big outdoor quilt show in Sisters Oregon. If you have never been be sure and put this one on your bucket list. It is held the second saturday in July in the central oregon town of Sisters. So many beautiful quilts all hung about this special town.

The Portland Modern Quilt Guild will once again have a display of quilts at the show. This year I am priviledged to be able to send this quilt with that group of quilts.

It's my version of the Paintbox Quilt along
by Oh Fransson.

I wish I could go and see my little quilt hung with all of those amazing quilts!

Daisy Swirl

What a cute panto this one is. I love it on my sisters quilt. I hope you can see the pattern in these pictures.

There were some big white blocks in this quilt, so I wasn't
sure if this was the right way to go, but....

I love this!

A great compliment to the quilt.

I used a grey verigated King Tut thread
and 80/20 Hobbs.

Now to get the binding on...................

Signature Quilt

Last week I finished quilting this quilt for a friend at work.

I can honestly say I was challenged. I just love the story behind this signature quilt. Her friend of many years is moving back to Germany and so the neighborhood made a quilt to give to her at her farewell party.  Each block was made with love by the families in the neighborhood. Even the pets were included! Love that!

I tried to keep it kind of organic on the lattice pieces.

and tried to stick with 3 or 4 different patterns in the lattice.

Quilting on the photo blocks was a little bit challenging.

I must say I had a lot of fun with this.
I really like this type of custom quilting, rather
than the pantograph quilting.
It does take a lot more time though.

Just love the signature blocks.

A little shot of the detail.

Even threw in a few feathers!

What a great way to try new things with my rulers.

Hope she likes it!

Saturday to Market

I love this time of year when the Saturday Market is open. Even tho it is a little rainy off and on today we were able to go walk about a little. The strawberries are being picked here, so I had to have a little pint to eat. Yum, there is nothing like Hood strawberries freshly picked. Then the lettuce and ... :/ asparagus (not for me, but my DH likes it!) looked good.

The plants were so pretty, I picked up another upside down pot today. I just love the mini martha washington geranium in it. The lavendar needed to be replaced so we found a nice 4inch pot of that.
Lunch was Thai food to share, and we came home with a small peach pie for dessert tonight. .

Mini Martha's

The lavendar with little good smelling blooms!

Ahhhh yes I do enjoy the local Saturday Farmers Market.

in Monday's Mail.....

Today I took the garbage out only to fine two parcels on my front porch.....I love to get packages in the mail, kinda made my day.

The first box contained this cute sign that I found on Etsy last week.Just lovin' it for my bathroom. Goes well with the new shower curtain I just got. Now  if I can get the DH to paint for me I will have a new look in there.

and the second package.......

contained some new pantos that I have been eying....
not on the wish list any more.

This chubby swirly leaf is so dang cute.
Love it!

I needed a little daisy one for my sisters quilt.

This one has been on my list a long time.....
Can't wait to try it on a couple of baby charity quilts.

and then this one. I want to see if this is an easier way to quilt BF's than with the circle rulers.

and that's my Monday so far. Have a great week.....Jeri
