UFO's

So for several years now the Guild has had a UFO contest and I have participated. I usually have 20 plus quilts on my list in various stages of finish, and I usually finish about 4-5 quilts during the years time. This quilt has been on the list at least 3 times. It sat in a corner with a little bit of machine stitching on it...I hated did not like it and was in the process of unsewing the quilting on it. That is a slow process...and so it sat, and sat, and sat. The quilt itself was a BOM at least 5 years ago, maybe more. Well I have been wanting to try some straight line quilting lately and this was my first attempt at it. Of course now I have my Gammill and it made the process much simpler. Just used my handy channel locks and went back and forth and back and forth. I decided to load the quilt sideways because I wanted the stitching to go up and down. Love Love Love it! and now it can come off the UFO list. Well almost, I still have to hand stitch binding and label it, but it will be done in time for the Guild meeting. YES!

IT TAKES A VILLAGE

This was a Block of the Month pattern
I think two of my sister started it too.....
The houses and trees were paperpieced.

Trying to get a picture of the straight line quilting.

and the back.....

Another straight line quilting close up.

I will definitely be quilting more of this straight line stuff!

A little sewing yesterday...

How fun to have a full day to just sew.... Yesterday that was my kinda day!
and then the day finished with a PMQG meeting and a chance to visit with some quilty friends.
 Therapy for sure.

I sewed a little binding on this one.....

Finished two more of these blocks.
I like taking pictures and then stepping back.
I can see that I need to move that lighter one around to play nicer!

and I put my center orange squares in my Mystery Quilt.
This was a class that I took a few weekends ago.
I have decided to make mine a table runner.
Maybe I will try to straightline quilt it! (Ann Marie!)

Happy Friday!

June BOMs

I got started early this month with my swap blocks. Yay! They are in the mail.....and this is what...June 10th ! Surprised myself.

first up,  Sew Bee Wonky blocks.
I love the Little Red Ridinghood in that one,
and dots....my fav!

then these are for
Harmony do.Good Stitches.
I have stepped up to be a quilter in this group.
My month will be October, so I have a little while
to plan and dream about it.

I have a few things coming off the quilting frame.
One is this  Starry Repro quilt for my sister.
Just adding the binding then it will be all finished.

I have had this for a while....
Sometimes figuring out how to quilt it
takes so much time...

I did a little ruler work on it.

Love the "leftovers" on the back.

and this one is up next.....
just adding the outer border and it will be ready to load.
Someone is helping me with it!
