HSTs after the Holiday

Last week we were in San Diego for Thanksgiving.
We enjoyed our time with the family and grand pets.

        Hi Norman

Bebe is a bit of a shy one

   And Gary.......always a happy pug.

Here are the kids in the kitchen preparing our feast.

      We helped!

The delicious Turkey that was brined. So good!

The following day we drove out to Coronado. There is a dog beach there.
Gary enjoyed putting his toes in the waves.

I found some hexie Inspiration in the bathroom.

A view of the iconic Coronado Resort. A bit stormy,
we get accused of always bringing the rain whenever we visit.....

    A few yummy cocktails .

A visit to Jons studio to see his latest project.

I must say we had a nice first part of our trip. I was sick on Saturday and Sunday and was coughing all the way home on Monday 😕😷

Last year I took fabric and started Bonnie Hunters Mystery quilt while we were still there. This year I left the fabric at home and so glad I did as I wouldn't have felt like sewing anyway. I decided to not buy any fabric and just make from stash this year. My grey is from the archives. It was in several strips that look like I used the length of it for borders. Hope there is enough. Tuesday I started cutting and today I am finishing 294 HSTs. Just about got the little buggers done. I even used the Easy Angle Ruler as she suggested. I must admit they are coming out quite accurate!

I will miss the start of the second clue tomorrow as I have to go back to work.....
oh well there is always next week......

How about you? Are you following the herd of Bonnie followers?

It is always so much fun!

Another one that ends in a 0

So today is another Birthday for me.
Another one that ends in a zero.
Thank you for all the well wishes early and on the actual day.
Where did those ten years go?
Time to turn the page into a new chapter.
I'm going to try and slow this next 10 years down!

A Queen size finish

I don't quilt very many queen sized quilts on the Gammil. Mostly because I have just barely enough to load them on my leaders. This is one that I finished today for a friend whose son is getting married in a few weeks. It took me a while to quilt but I am happy we chose a green thread and my Popcorn panto. If I were ever to buy another Gammil .......I would go to a larger throat and next size up on the table, but then I would need a new studio to accommodate. Guess I will be happy with what I have.

Remembering

This week I am in Spokane with my sisters. It was one year ago that my mom passed away. Last year at this time my DH and I were cruising the Caribbean. Flying home I found out about mom and I remember a long flight home beginning the grieving process. I turned around the next day and flew to Spokane to help take care of moms final wishes. I still have little snippets of memories every day. And I miss her so much.

On a lighter note today is my baby's birthday. Would love to be with her to give her a birthday hug. I am looking forward to spending Thanksgiving with her.

        This one was paperpieced.
          Not my fav technique,

Another Flimsy Finish

I have been working on this quilt a long time. And so now finally the top is done!

This is a shot of the blocks all assembled

Then the two borders were added.

Tumalo Trails is finally a flimsy!
From Bonnie Hunters book / Scraps & Shirttails II

And I love it!

Even made some words to put on the back.

Now on to piecing the back.....
