A New "Go Anywhere Bag" for me!

While at the quilting retreat I was able to make a cute bag....

I put in a sew in magnet closure,

added piping ... and a key leash.....

I just love this Lotta Jansdotter fabric!

and a piece of Reunion by Sweetwater that I had in the stash

I used canvas to give the bag structure instead of interfacing. I will probably do that again because it has a much softer feel than interfacing does. Not sure about the sew in magnet.... Kinda spendy and a little fussy to put in. but for now......
                                                            Enjoying my new bag!

Guild Retreat

Last month I spent a fun weekend with some of the members of the quilt guild that I belong to. It was so much fun to just sew sew sew.....I managed to get two tops bordered and made a bag, and I finished a few blocks for monthly swaps. One fun weekend of enrichment. Quilters are such awesome kindred spirits!

M I A

Yes it's true.....I have been on vacation and last week was away from my computer. No chance to blog. In Cabo....some good times and some not so good. A little food poisoning adventure for me and my husband. Several others in our group were also sick. Still able to experience Cabo. Saw a lot of whales, had a beautiful sunset sail, and lots of time to lounge at the pool and work on a little tan.

The weather was warm and wonderful.

Good times and some good memories.

Appropriately called "Seal Rock"

Out on the Bow...

a beautiful sunset!

The following week was spent out at the beach with my mom and sisters. I took my Bernina and we sewed a little, read a little, cooked a little, enjoyed each others company and the beach.....

a sunset at the Oregon coast.

I came back in to work a day and then..... off to quilt retreat with my guild. I was able to get two quilt tops done, and made a cute bag, also made a couple of blocks , and a little hand sewing of binding on a charity baby quilt.

Now it's back to the real world this week.

Finishing up for January

Finished this quilt for a PTA raffle this week. One of my friends at work finished the top and gave it to me to be quilted. Hopefully it will raise a lot of money for a good cause.

I decided to do an allover panto on this.

Hard to get a close up.
The panto is called
Maidenhair / Kaye Emmerson

and these are my Bee Blocks for January for
Sew Bee Wonky.
I just love those little houses.
These are 12 1/2 inch blocks.

Sew cute!
