Spiral Quilting

Today I dug out this UFO.....

I have been wanting to try my hand at Spiral Quilting.

Kinda tricky. The key is to start slow with small stitches to lock them.

And then lengthen the stitches as you go out.

I drew a little beginning spiral and then went around and around using about a half inch spacing.

Good thing this quilt is only 36 inches square.

It took quite a while....

Tonight , the binding.

  2. Love it!! I did a 15" spiral freehand on my Gammill...scared me to death! I finally drew it out on paper then traced that on to PressnSeal with a water soluble blue pen...laid it on the quilt top and tried to relax...ha! It stitched out pretty easily. Btw...I have some paper pantos I'll be selling if interested.
